What Ho! Christmas Again.

 Hello Campers

To celebrate this craziest of Christmassssss I'm re-posting a mix I made for Dandelion Radio in 2011.

This time of year can get my hackles up...a bit....such mindless consumption...I have been known to be a tad cynical about the whole odious affair, but this mix, as the title 'Mr Mucilaginous's Unsentimental But Only Mildly Cynical Zmas Mix' suggests, nay states, is only mildly so.

Have a day....

Paper Boats

December's Eclectic Music For Mind And Bodhi is bursting with feeling. I'm calling it Paper Boats after a poem by Rabindranath Tragore. Ostensibly about a childhood game, it is probably better interpreted as a metaphor for the thoughts, words and actions that we launch into the world, ideally without attachment.

As usual, you can download the MP3 directly by clicking this link: EMFAB Decemeber 2020

Paper Boats

This poem by Rabindranath Tragore  appeared in a local parish magazine this week. It rather appealed to me as a metaphor for not being attached to our expressions...letting them drift where they may go like paper boats in a stream. So it is with this show.

Day by day I float my paper boats one by one down the running
stream.
In big black letters I write my name on them and the name of
the village where I live.
I hope that someone in some strange land will find them and
know who I am.
I load my little boats with shiuli flower from our garden, and
hope that these blooms of the dawn will be carried safely to land
in the night.
I launch my paper boats and look up into the sky and see the
little clouds setting thee white bulging sails.
I know not what playmate of mine in the sky sends them down
the air to race with my boats!
When night comes I bury my face in my arms and dream that my
paper boats float on and on under the midnight stars.
The fairies of sleep are sailing in them, and the lading ins
their baskets full of dreams.
